Germantown dropped a non-conference game 6-2 to Watertown, ranked #6 in last week's WFSCA D1 poll. The loss dropped the Warharks to 9-4 overall.
Germantown got their offense going in the bottom of the 4th after falling behind 6-0. Junior SS Kayla Preiss (1-3, 2B, R) led off with a double and was plated on a single by junior 3B Julia Sina (1-2, BB, RBI, R). After a walk and a flyout, senior 1B Kenzie Thomas (1-3, RBI) knocked home Sina. Senior CF Maddy Balsiger (1-3, 2B) doubled in the 6th for the only other hit of the game for the Warhawks.
Junior pitcher Kylie Otto got the start for Germantown, pitching 4 innings and giving up 6 runs (3 earned) on 6 hits, no walks and 1 strikeout. Senior pitcher Kendal Thomas pitched 3 shutout innings in relief, allowing 2 hits and 1 walk while striking out 2.
The Warhawks return to GMC play on Tuesday at Wauwatosa East.
