Iola-Scandinavia dropped a non-conference home game to Winneconne, 8-0, on Friday, April 19. The loss dropped the Thunderbird to 7-3 while the Wolves improved to 6-3.
Winneconne outhit the T-Birds 12-6. For the Wolves, Jaidyn Halder, Elizabeth Jahnke, Grace Mitchell and Audra Schaffer each had two hits. Halder had a double while Jahnke and Claire Kollat each had a triple. Jahnke and Hannah Olson also had two RBI's. Myah Hescke had two doubles for the Thunderbirds.
Pitcher Julia Munoz took her first loss of the season. Munoz pitched the first four innings allowing six hits, four runs, one walk while striking out three batters. Only one of the runs was earned. The T-Birds defense had three errors in the game. Rayanne Clendenning pitched the final three innings. Clendenning allowed six hits, four runs, no walks and had one strikeout.
Pitcher Julia Youngbauer went the distance to earn the shutout win for the Wolves. Youngbauer had no walks and eight strikeouts.
