Shoreland Lutheran Pacers moved to 4-2 overall (4-0 MCC) by beating Dominican/Eastbrook Academy 12-2 in 6 innings Thursday.
After allowing the leadoff batter to score in the first inning the Pacers quickly answered with 4 runs in the bottom of the first capped by a 2 out, 2 strike rbi double by Miley Brooks. SL added 3 more in the bottom of the second highlighted by an rbi triple by pitcher Erin Borchardt. The Pacers were led by Grace Olson who went 3-3 with 4 runs, 4 rbi and her first high school HR in the bottom of the 4th. Olson added 4 SB as well. Faith Triplett added 2 hits, including an rbi single to left center to close out the game. Borchardt picked up the win throwing all 6 innings, scattering 4 hits, 1 BB, 6 K and 1 ER.
Shoreland faces Racine St Cats next Friday in Somers while Dominican/Eastbrook Academy will play Kenosha St Joe/Christian Life Tuesday.
"We certainly have improved from our first game a few weeks ago, " said Shoreland head coach Kelly Hill. :Our approach mentally has impressed me. The older girls are doing a great job leading the younger girls and teaching them to be consistent softball players."
