Westosha Central used a 9-hit attack along with defensive miscues by the Broncos to defeat Union Grove 9-5 in Paddock Lake.

Meghan Lampos earned the win going 4 innings, striking out 11 and allowing only 3 hits.  Sam Erber also spent time in the circle, limiting the Broncos to two runs.

The Falcons opened the scoring in the first when Lila McNeill walked, stole second and scored on an error.   They extended their lead in the 2nd when Mykayla Sturino singled with two out.  After a stolen base, McNeill singled, scoring Sturino.  McNeill scored on a single by Maya Gagliardi.

The Broncos responded in the 3rd when Emma LaFrania walked and later scored on a single by Emma Santarelli.  They narrowed the gap in the 4th.  Ashely Bert led off with a single followed by an Abbey Garbie single.  Bert scored  when Natalie Schultz singled to center.

In their half of the 4th, Westosha Central exploded for four runs.  Singles by Emma Smith, Sturino, and McNeill started the frame.  Gagliardi plated Smith with a sac fly, then a single by Lampos scored Sturino and McNeill.  Lampos scored on another fielding error.

Union Grove added another run in the 6th.  Another single by Garbie led off the inning.  She scored on a two-out single by LaFrania.

The Falcons responded in their half of the 6th when errors plated Maya Swanson.  Sam Erber later scored on a single by Allie Loucas.  The Broncos rallied in the 7th, scoring two on a wild pitch and passed ball but they couldn't get the tying run on base.

"We took advantage of their mistakes and we kept putting the ball in play," said Co-Head Coach Tom Lampe.  "We've been pretty productive, especially with two out and that helped.  We had to grind it out more today and they kept coming at us.  Overall, it was a good team win."  (co-head coach Tom Lampe). With the win the Falcons improved to 4-0 overall and 3-0 in the Southern Lakes.  They return to action tomorrow when they host Waterford in another conference game.  Starting pitch is 4:00.
