Jefferson scored three runs in the first which would have been enough to beat Lakeside but they added four more in the second to salt things away. A single run in the fourth and one in the sixth gave them 9. Lakeside mustered just one run in th3e bottom of the third.
The winning pitcher was Mengel who struck out 3 and walked one in six innings of work. Keightan Rank absorbed the loss.
Leading hitters for Jefferson were Mengel, Messman and Werning with two hits each. Lakeside had five hits and 2 of them were by the ninth batter in the order, that being Zech.
Five Lakeside errors led to six unearned runs.
Lakeside head coach Matt Doering had these comments following the game. "Jefferson is a very good team in all phases and well coached. Credit them. We played well in stretches but we need to improve in consistency. We are growing and learning."
