Westosha Central used a steady offense along with solid pitching and fielding to overcome Elkhorn 8-2 in their home opener.

The Elks started the scoring with 2 in the 1st inning.  With one out Kresen singled and later scored on a double by Michala Meinen.  Myles Calvillo, single in the inning scored two batters later on a wild pitch.  After the initial scoring, the rest of the offensive night belonged to the Falcons.  In the 1st, Lila McNeill walked, stole 2B and scored on a single by Maya Gagliardi.

In the 2nd inning, Alex McKinney doubled and scored on a sac fly by Allie Loucas,  The Falcons plated their 3rd run in the 3rd when McNeill stole home plate.  They added two more in the 4th.  Loucas doubled and scored on an error.  Emma Smith singled later in the inning and scored on a double by Mykenna Sturino.  Like the 4th, the Falcons added two more in the 5th.  Meghan Lampos reached on an error and scored on McKinney's 2nd double of the game.   She scored on a single by Smith.  Westosha's final run came when Jordan Jozefiak scored on a McNeill single.  Sam Erber earned the win in the circle, going 5 innings, allowing 1 hit, no runs and striking out 6.

Comments from Co Head Coach Tom Lampe -- "Sam did a great job of keeping them off balance.  She gives us a nice one-two punch in the circle.  We also did a great job of adjusting on offense from last night.  We scored in every inning and did the little things we did not do last night.  Overall, we grew as a team."

With the win the Falcons improve to 2-0 overall and in the SLC.  They return to action on Friday when they host Kenosha Tremper in a nonconference tilt.
