Sophomore 2B Alaina Williams (1-3, BB, 2 RBI) opened the scoring with a 2-run single (her first varsity hit) as the Warhawks took a 4-0 lead in the bottom of the 2nd.
Germantown expanded the lead to 8-0 in the 4th on an inside-the-park 2-run home run by senior CF Maddy Balsiger (2-4, HR, R, 3 RBI, SB) and an inside-the-park solo home run by sophomore LF Ally Pentek (1-3, HR). It was Pentek's first varsity home run.
The Warhawks wrapped out 12 hits, let by junior 3B Julia Sina (3-4, 2B, 2 R, 2 SB), while sophomore Addy Johnson (single) and freshmen Kennedy Bennett (double) each collected their first varsity hits in their first plate appearances.
Senior pitcher Kendal Thomas went the distance in her first varsity start, allowing only 1 unearned run on 1 hit and 2 walks while striking out 9.
Germantown is in action again on Wednesday, April 10 as they host Wisconsin Lutheran in a non-conference tilt.
