Junior pitcher Morgan Gunderson tossed a shutout against Stratford and junior CF/pitcher Kassidy McCaffery and junior CF/SS Grace Gavinski each hit two run homers for Poynette. The runs scored off McCaffery's homer came with two outs an one pitcher after the Stratford catcher misplayed a pop up just to the left of the home plate area with two outs.
In Poynette's second game of the day they were beaten 5-4 in 8 innings (international tie-breaker invoked) by St. Mary's Springs. McCaffery had a home run in that game for the Pumas.
