A 2024 Season Update after Day 9

Here is a brief update on Day 9 of the 2024 season with a few other tidbits of information for your fastpitch perusal.

After starting out like a lamb the weather has turned suddenly like a lion and forcing teams that had been outside practicing, scrimmaging and actually getting in a few games in Wisconsin mother nature has chased teams back indoors.

Some teams have in warmer places getting some games in though. You can always check out schedules and scores on wissports.net.

When checking out statewide leaders on the wissports.net site keep in mind that the only way a player can get onto the leaderboards is if that school's stats are posted on the wissports.net site.

Coaches need to keep track of WFSCA (Wisconsin Fastpitch Coaches Association) deadlines such as membership deadline, Senior All Start nominations, all district nominations, Academic All State nominations. All those deadlines are Hard Ones so don't forget.

Also keep in mind that if the head coach is not a member of WFSCA then players from that school or Coop are not eligible for all start nominations, all district nominations which also means no all state consideration and no Academic All State award either. Coaches are also not eligible for Coach of the Year and are not eligible for the Championship rings the WFSCA provides the head coach.

This website will post written game summaries if submitted in sentence and paragraph form. We will no be typing game summaries like we have in the past. Don't send us Gamechanger box scores or line scores and expect to have them published. We will accept game changer game summaries in paragraph for that the software provides.

There was an interesting article about Lakeland High School pitcher Saylor Timmerman who has committed to Arkansas. The article was written by Dudley E. Dawson and published back in October.

Timmerman is a fireballing pitcher who stands 6' tall and had offers from the likes of Oklahoma, Arizona State, Florida State, Georgia, Wisconsin, Notre Dame and Standford.

Extra inning ranked Timmerman second best in the nation as strictly a pitcher. According to the article she has been clocked as high as 69 mph. During the summer travel ball season she struck out 161 batters in 85+ innings with an ERA of 0.890 and a WHIP of 0.987.

"I am beyond excited to announce my commitment to the University of Arkansas," the Lakeland product said.
