" I am so proud of the way our girls finished the season. God surely blessed us with a great run at the end. They left a legacy for our program. Winning a regional and advancing further than any Lakeside team has in our program history. Our seniors were great leaders. This was really a team effort all year. We just competed so hard near the end. Congrats to Mayville. They played a solid game and it was a real battle all the way to the last pitch.
We came out strong to start the game on offense. Jenna Shadoski singled to lead off the bottom of the first and Kendall Lemke hammered a 2 run shot to get us started. Jenna added a solo shot in the 3rd and Abby Meis hit a 3 run homer later in the 3rd. After that we couldn't put anything together.
Defensively we had a rough top of the 4th. Two walks, 2 singles, a double and an error lead to a burst of runs to tie the game. Grace Cook threw well all night, but we couldn't help her out in that inning."
