Grantsburg wins two at Gilman/Thorp Slamfest - Head Coach Don Bjelland records win #500

#500 comes exactly two years after win #450 on 5/13/21

Grantsburg Pirates scores more runs than McDonald , takes victory on Saturday to the tune of  6-1

Grantsburg Pirates got things started in the first inning.  Whitney Meyers homered on a 2-1 count, scoring two runs.

Piper Olson led things off in the circle for Grantsburg Pirates. The ace allowed four hits and one run over three and a third innings, striking out three.

#20 was in the pitcher's circle for McDonald she  lasted seven innings, allowing seven hits and six runs while striking out four and walking zero.

Grantsburg Pirates launched two home runs on the day. Meyers went yard in the first and seventh innings.

Grantsburg Pirates racked up seven hits in the game.  Meyers and Carley Gross each had multiple hits for Grantsburg Pirates.  Meyers went 3-for-4 at the plate to lead Grantsburg Pirates in hits.

In beating Stratford the Grantsburg Program and Don Bjelland got to win number 500.

Both teams were strong on the rubber Saturday, but Grantsburg Pirates defeated Stratford Varsity Tigers 3-2. Whitney Meyers allowed just eight hits to Stratford Varsity Tigers.

Meyers toed the rubber for Grantsburg Pirates. The pitcher lasted seven innings, allowing eight hits and two runs while striking out two.

Grantsburg Pirates hit one home run on the day. Meyers had a four bagger in the seventh inning.

Meyers led Grantsburg Pirates with two hits in four at bats.  Grantsburg Pirates didn't commit a single error in the field. Megan Schafer had  four chances in the field, the most on the team.

Stratford Varsity Tigers racked up eight hits.  Lexie Christopherson and Bailey Linzmaier all managed multiple hits for Stratford Varsity Tigers.
