Germantown defeated DSHA 13-3 in 6 innings on Wednesday, moving to 10-2 in the GMC and 11-3 overall.
After falling behind 3-0 in the top 1st, the Warhawks plated one in the bottom half before taking the lead for good by scoring 5 in the 2nd. In the 3rd, Josie Smith (2-3, 2 HR, 3 R, 3 RBI, SB) launched a 2-run homer high over the scoreboard in left and followed that up with a solo shot in the 5th, her 3rd HR of the year. In the 6th, Madison Werner (3-4, HR, R, 4 RBI, 2 SB) lined a game-ending 2-run homer over the left field fence for her 5th HR of the season. Emmy Coulter (2-2, 3 R, 2 SB), Maddy Balsiger (2-3, 2 R, RBI, SB) and Taylor Wilson (2-3, 2B, 2 R, 2 RBI) also had multi-hit games for Germantown.
Hailey Williams took over in the circle in the 1st inning and went 5 2/3 shutout innings, allowing only 2 hits while walking 1 and striking out 5. She raised her record to 5-1 with the win.
The Warhawks host Kenosha Bradford in a non-conference tilt on Friday.
