Initially to be hosted by Wausau West however due to unplayable fields in Wausau Kimberly Coach Chad Mix was able to work with Waupaca High School to host the Tri Angular with Kimberly, Superior and Wausau West on Saturday April 8th. Kimberly would win the 1st game with a 24-4 Win over the Wausau West Warriors in 3 innings. Aleigh Buss got the win in the Circle giving up 3 Hits, 4 Runs all 4 unearned Walking 3 and striking out 2. Offensivley Sophie Hermis went 3 for 4 with 6 RBI’s to lead the Papermakers who as a team got 12 hits. Sadie Peissig reach base twice for the Warriors with 2 Walks. The 2nd Game Superior would take down the Warriors 20-1. The Spartans pounded out 15 hits and would reach base by balls 10 times. Ari Robillard earned the win in 5 Innings with scattering 3 hits and 1 Run, walking 1 and striking out 2. The lone run given up was a Home run by the Warriors Sophomore Taylor Liebelt. In the Final game of the afternoon both teams would put their aces out to the Circle with Josie Hammen for Kimberly and Haley Zembo for Superior. Superior would strike right away in the 1st inning jumping out to a 3-0 lead. Kimberly would get 2 runs in the 3rd inning as Lydia Stumpf was walked with the bases loaded and Lilly Hurt would get hit by a pitch with the bases loaded to pull within 2. However The Papermakers could not find the grass against Haley Zembo who earned the victory allowing no hits, 3 runs all unearned, Striking out 15 and walking 9. Paige Johnson went 3 for 4 with a double and scoring 2 runs for the Spartans, Alayna DeGraef and Indigo Fish each had 2 RBI’s, Emma Raye had a Triple for the Spartans and Ari Robillard also hit an inside the park home run. Josie Hammen took the loss allowing 7 hits, 6 runs 5 earned, walking 1 and striking out 4. Lydia Stumpf Walked twice with the Bases Loaded each time for 2 RBI’s for the Papermakers.
