Milton Commits too many errors to stay with the #2 seeded Cardinals

Sun Prairie got off to a great start with a leadoff slap that bounced high off the plastic dirt at Goodman Diamond. The shortstop got to the ball but couldn't get a throw to first in time to retire the batter. Before the inning was over the Red Hawks would commit several errors when misplaying balls on the unfamiliar surface and they dropped what should have been an easy out on a low pop up to the shortstop.

The final score was 5-0.

Sun Prairie punched their ticket to the Final Four, the fourth time in coach Jamie Olson's tenure at a school that will be cut in half in terms of students next year when Sun Prairie West High School opens the doors for the first time.

The WIAA has Sun Prairie listed as Sun Prairie East in this year's tournament on the NFHS broadcast.

More on this game later once the stats are distributed to the media.

Sun Prairie scored four runs in the bottom of the second inning when Milton committed some costly errors. The Redhawks would finish with six errors in all leading to three unearned runs. Tayler Baker of Sun Prairie would strikeout 13, mixing in some risers and changeups primarily.

The leading hitters for Sun Prairie were second sacker Kennedy Schaefer who went 2x3 and third sacker Grace Kramschuster was 2x3 with an rbi while the Royle twins, juniors Sophia and Isabel each collected a hit. Leftfielder Chloe Knoerschilt was 1x4. Baker limited Milton to just a pair of safeties.
