Cambridge scored a run in the top of the first and Lakeside countered it with a run of their own in the bottom of two. Neither team could score in innings three through six.

Cambridge exploded for three in the top of the seventh then held off the Warriors allowing two runs and stranding the tying run at third and the would-be winner at second when the game ended on a fly ball to center field.

The hits were one apart as well with Cambridge getting eight and Lakeside garnering seven. An interesting tidbit in the hits department is this. All 15 hits dsbr pmr were collected by the top five spots in the orders. The leading hitter in the game was the #5 hitter for Lakeside, Chloe Berg who went 4x4 in a losing cause. Abby Meis had a triple for Lakeside.

On the winning side, Audrienne Kieler had two hits, Kate Dowing had two hits including a double.

The tough-luck loser was Keightan Rank who allowed four runs on eight hits, struck out four and walked a pair. All four runs were earned. The winner was Emma Nottestad who allowed 3 runs on seven hits, struck out three and walked two. Only one of the Lakeside runs was earned.

Lakeside coach Matt Doering had this to say after the game, "This was a great game.  Both teams played a very evenly matched game.  It came down to the last inning.  Congratulations to Cambridge.  We have a to  be proud of tonight even though the score didn't come out in our favor. I am so proud of the girls for putting together a rally in the 7th inning to answer their half. We played good defense all night.  We just couldn't get a solid hit in a couple of situations in the middle innings to get a run. This was a great team. We certainly worked hard all year and it paid off.  They are a great bunch of girls. We say goodbye to a great group of 4 seniors.  All of them came out and contributed to the team every day.  We wish them God's richest blessings on their future endeavors."
