West won the see-saw WIAA Div. 1 regional game with a two-out, bases-loaded pop fly that was misplayed just a few feet from home plate.
Fond du Lac outhit West 14-5. The Spartans capitalized on 11 walks and scored five runs on wild pitches -- scoring two runs on a wild pitch and errant throw twice.
Paige Guse was 2-for-4 with a two-run single for the Spartans.
Lindsay Sandleback notched the win with five innings in relief.
The Spartans, who improved to 17-8, advance to the regional championship game at Oshkosh West.
