The Spartans rapped 17 hits to back the five-hit pitching of Veda Selin.

West tallied twice in the first inning, nine times in the second, 12 in the third and two in the fourth. Grafton scored an unearned run in the fifth.

Paige Guse had three hits, including a three-run home run, and drove in five runs. Jessie Reich had three hits and three RBI.

Lindsay Sandleback and Avelina Wolf had three RBI each. Mia Buske had two doubles and two RBI and Allie Estrada and Kelsey Corbett each drove in a pair of runs.

Lakeside Lutheran 6, Oregon 4

Wautoma 2, Iola-Scandinavia 1

Wautoma beat Iola-Scandinavia, 2-1, in a non-conference battle at Wautoma Tuesday afternoon.  The Thunderbirds took an early 1-0 lead in the first inning on a run-scoring single by Alexa Christoph.  The Hornets tied the game, 1-1, in the third inning when Briana Buechner tripled and scored on a sacrifice fly by Ava Stahl.  Wautoma took the lead in the fifth inning when Buechner tripled to right field and again scored on a sacrifice fly by Ava Stahl.  The game ended when the T-Birds Maddie Much was called out at home on a close play after tagging up on a fly ball to right field for the final 2-1 score.

Pitcher Bri Handel went the distance to earn the win while Maddie Much pitched all six innings and took the loss.  Handel walked one and struck out 10.  Much walked one and had four strikeouts. 

Shoreland Lutheran 12, Kenosha St. Joseph 2

After routing Dominican 15-0 on Monday, Shoreland softball took advantage of 12 hits to win their 8th straight conference game on Tuesday at Parkside University, beating St Joe 12-2 in 6 innings. The Pacers scored 3 runs in each of the first 2 innings, added a run in the 3rd, 2 in the 5th and 3 in the 6th to complete the victory. Kaylee Ruiz was 3-4 with 1 rbi, Haylee Dodd 2-4, 3 runs, 1 rbi, 2 SB, Grace Olson 2-4, 1 runs, 2 rbi, SB, and Alyssa Pavlovich 3-4, 3 runs. Erin Borchardt picked up her 11th win of the season, throwing 6 innings, 1 ER, allowing 6 hits and striking out 7.

"We played with great energy tonight. I give credit to my girls for that. It has been a long stretch for many teams at the end of the season. These girls are just focused on one inning at a time and that has helped us stay energized and focused."

The Pacers finished the MCC with an 11-3 record, 1 game behind Martin Luther in the standings. Shoreland is 14-4 overall and plays Kenosha Treumper in their last game Friday at Tremper. St Joe finishes at 12-8 and 10-4 in the MCC.
