Long Ball Secures Win for New London over Menasha

In a Bay Conference Showdown Friday night in Menasha New London used the long ball 6 times to earn the 7-5 Victory over the Blue Jays and Sole Possession of 1st place in the Conference.  Emma Reismann Got the Bulldogs on the board in the 3rd inning with a 2 run shot to Left Center Field, 2 Batters Later Autumn Winkelman Hit a Solo Shot to Center Field to take a 3-0 Lead. The Blue Jays would plate a run in the Bottom of the 3rd on a Sacrifice Bunt by Kelsey Mohr. Fast Forward to the top of the 6th Inning Where once again Autumn Winkelman hit a solo shot to center field, 2 Batters Later Sommer Krull went over the fence for the 1st time ever to take a 5-1 lead. In the Menasha half of the 6th Sam Shuey would single in Maddie Zaves who reached on a walk down 5-2. The final frame would once again feature another home run as Molly Kable and Emma Reismann went back-to-back Solo Home Runs to go up 7-2. Menasha wasn’t done yet as Maddie Zaves hit a home run in the bottom of the 7th to close the gap 7 to 5 but that was as close as they could get.  New London improved to 8-1 overall and remains undefeated at 5-0 in the Bay Conference. Menasha drops to 4-3 overall and 4-1 in the Bay. The two teams will meet again Monday in New London.
