On April 28, 2022 in game between West Bend West and Cedarburg, the Bulldogs had runners
on 1st and 3rd with no outs, Jessica Riech got a triple play started by catching a one-hop shot shot
at 3B. She quickly “rifled a throw” to Ava Thelen at 1B to retire Sarah Prom. Thelen picked the
short hop, pivoted and threw home to catcher Mia Buske to double up Cassidy Gall at the plate.
Buske quickly threw to 2nd behind a courtesy runner (for Payton Monticelli) with Kelsey
Corbett applying the tag, completing a rare triple play with four defenders involved.
All four players received Fastpitch Chronicle Triple Play Award Certificate.
