In Lodi, Poynette's Lowenberg twirls perfect game in 1-0 win

Poynette scores game's only run in the 4th inning after beating Lodi last night 18-0 in five innings

Junior righthander Holly Lowenberg rose the occasion in Lodi today and held off the Blue Devils in a 1-0 Poynette victory that couple with a Columbus win over unbeaten Lake Mills pulled the Pumas into a tie for the conference lead with the L-Cats. Lowenberg allowed just one ball out of the infield, a pop up to centerfield.

Lowenberg struck out 13 in the perfect game and helped herself with a lone-out single in the top of the fourth inning. When freshman utility player Kassidy McCaffery walked Lowenberg got second base and scored on an rbi single by senior Abby Klink who sent 2x2 in the game. 

Poynette collected five his including a double by Lowenberg her second hit of the game.

The Pumas are now 7-2 on the season.
