Baraboo sends Waunakee packing, Iola-Scandinavia does same to Sevastopol, Brodhead's McKenna Young throws another no-hitter

Baraboo buries Waunakee with 7 run 3rd Inning

Senior Emma Crary threw 5 shut-out  innings while striking out 9 and walking 1 allowing just 2 hits.  The T-Birds played error-free softball for the first time all season.

Sophomore Madee Strampe was 2 x 3 with a double, HR and 4 RBI's to lead the offensive charge.  Paige Lewison added an RBI double.  Caroline Lewison added a double and was 2 x 3, while Maggie Cleary, Taylor Pfaff, and Kylie Sprecher all added 2 hits each.

The number 2 seeded T-Birds face off against the number 3 seeded Holmen Vikings Wednesday at Don Pierce Field at Pierce Park Weds at 5PM.

Iola-Scandinavia dropped Sevastopol
Iola-Scandinavia - #3 (17-9) beat Sevastopol - #6 (4-13) in a regional semi-final game at Iola-Scandinavia.  The Thunderbirds advance to play at Algoma - #2 in a regional championship on Wednesday, June 16.

The T-Birds outhit the Pioneers 14-11.  Jaelyn Sivertson, Katie Cherek, Marin Hoyord and Makayla Much each had three hits for I-S.  Sivertson had three triples and two RBI's.  Cherek had a double and drove in five runs.  Hoyord had two RBI's.  Makayla Much three hits were all bunts.  Alexa Christoph also had two RBI's.

For Sevastopol,  Claire Haberli and Johanna Andreae each had two hits.  Libby Ash and Jolene Luedtke drove in three and two runs respectively.

Lizzie Jones worked the first four innings to earn the win for Iola-Scandinavia.  Jones allowed eight hits, one walk and struck out four batters.  Julia Munoz pitched one inning.  Munoz allowed one hit, three walks and had no strikeouts.  Maddie Much pitched the final two innings allowing two hits, no walks and had two strikeouts.

Brodhead pitcher McKenna Young twirled a five-inning no-hitter to beat Lancaster 10-0 on Monday.
