The Spartans rallied for six runs in the top of the seventh inning to overcome a 5-0 deficit before Cedarburg pushed across the tying and winning runs in the bottom of the seventh.
Cedarburg scored three runs in the first inning and tacked on two unearned runs in the sixth.
The Spartans opened the seventh with singles by Ava Thelen, Lindsay Sandleback and Maddie Koenings to load the bases. Olivia Culp followed with an RBI single. The Spartans plated two more runs on fielder's choices by Kailey Kurtz and Lexi Buske. A pinch-hit single by Lily Hahn and single by Mia Buske loaded the bases again. Lexi Buske scored on a wild pitch to pull West within one at 5-4. Makenna Gish doubled home two runs to put the Spartans on top 6-5.
Mia Buske and Koenings had two hits each for the Spartans, who were held to just two hits through the first six innings by Cassidy Gall.
Veda Selin fanned two, walked two and allowed eight hits and four earned runs in 6-1/3 innings in the circle for the Spartans.
West is 12-11 overall and 10-7 in North Shore Conference play.
