Racine Lutheran put up their 7th win in a row tonight. The team is now 13-3 overall and 9-2 in the Metro Classic.
Last week Racine Lutheran went 4-0 on the week beating Lake Country 13-0 (5 innings), beat Burlington Catholic Central 7-1 and 5-0, followed by defeating Shoreland 10-0 (5 innings). Kat Schmierer had 44 k's, 3 walks, and 3 shutouts with one earned run in a tough conference week. Her teammates stepped up with the bats and on defense to put the runs up when needed.
This week the team has started with 2 big wins and Kat has put up 2 shutouts once again. The team beat Horlick on Monday 10-0 (5 innings). Kat Schmierer threw a one-hitter with 12 strikeouts. Senior Center fielder Alexis Peterson went 2 for 3 with a double, Mac Burn Senior shortstop went 2/4 with 4 RBI's. Sydney Hoover senior 1st base was 2/3 with 2 RBI's. Kat Schmierer added a double and an RBI.
Tonight the team kept the hitting and pitching going, beating St. Cat's 15-0 in 3 innings. Kat Schmierer struck out 8/10 batters who came to the plate with no hits. The bats were going again with Alexis Peterson hitting a double and a triple along with 3 RBI's. Kendyll Hoilub went 2/3 with a double.
