The Boscobel Lady Bulldogs played an intense, seven-inning pitchers' duel ending in a heart breaking 1-0 loss on a homerun by Mineral Point's number three batter, Wenger in the bottom of the 7th.
This is the first conference loss for Boscobel who previously dominated the Pointers 10-1 at home. As noted before both teams' pitchers battled hard in the circle. Gretta Grassel faced 21 batters, had 19 strike outs and only allowed 2 hits (to the same girl) and no walks. She also batted .500 for the night. Isabelle Manning, Erin Knowles, and Sarah Knowles were the only other batters in the lineup to get hits tonight. Unfortunately the Bulldogs couldn’t execute during critical moments and left runners stranded in 4/7 innings. Lessons on the “it takes a team” motto were learned tonight.
