Monona Grove beats Stoughton

Claire Zegadlo helped lead Monona Grove Softball past Stoughton Vikings in their 12-6 win on Tuesday, May 11th.

Zegadlo drove in four runs on two singles and a double. Monona Grove's four-run second inning rally was led by Dani Lucey who tripled to left field, a single by Zegadlo, and a double by Mayfield. Paige Hanson picked up three hits and Mayfield would go on to hit three doubles on the night lifting her batting average .548. Bree Loushine and Emma Uschan each had multiple hits for Monona Grove in the 17 hit team effort.

Karlie McKenzie went the distance allowing six hits and six runs while striking out six in the win. Ava Perkins took the loss for Stoughton Vikings Varsity. The bulldog lasted five and a third innings allowing 17 hits and 12 runs while striking out two and walking zero. Savanna Jemilo led Stoughton Vikings Varsity with three hits in four at bats including a 3-run homerun.

Monona Grove moves to 7-2 overall (4-1 Badger South Conference) while Stoughton drops to 2-7 (1-4 conference).
