Sussex Hamilton vs Cedarburg -- A Game where father and daughter were opponents - Announcement about First Rankings

First Statewide Rankings in All Five Divisions will be posted Sunday Evening-- Here is a list of the teams we are considering now

Hello Fastpitch Fans

Most of this Bulletin was written on Saturday night.

Today a rare occurence took place when Cedarburg hosted Sussex Hamilton at Rod Wilterdink Field. Cedarburg Co-Head Coach Jeff Langkamp was coaching against his daughter Isabelle who plays for Hamilton. That might be the first time that has happened in Wisconsin high school softball. If not, let me know. It was reported that there were some wet eyes during and right after the hug I posted with this Bulletin. Hamilton on the back of five Cedarburg errors overcame being struck out 16 times and won the game 7-1.

In a key Division 1 matchup today the Hortonville Polar Bears beat Stevens Point.

Elsewhere Kaukauna, the Fastpitch Chronicle's Top Ranked Team beat Kenosha Tremper 3-0 and Westosha Centra 19-3l. Earlier in the week Kaukauna was scheduled to play Escanaba but that got cancelled due to the fact that COVID-19 had attacked the Escanaba roster to the point that after contract tracing and testing the Eskymos were down to just four players.

Due to the situation above Kaukauna is looking for a team to play a twinbill with or two teams for single games.

Over on the west side of the state Holmen beat Marshfield. That game interests me because I was thinking highly about Marshfield in the Wisconsin Valley. I also started the season out with a high degree of respect for Holmen of the Mississippi Valley. The final score today was 15-4 with Holmen winning it. One never knows the details unless they can hear the details or read the details. Neither of those teams send reports to me for publication. Questions abound when I see a score like tha such as:Was this part of a two or three game event? Was a key player such as a pitcher missing on a Saturday? Was one team playing a raft of substitutes rather than the front line girls and other questions.

The first in-season rankings will get posted Sunday evening. Here are the teams on our list to consider in each division. Read through it. If there are teams you believe we should add to our "In Consideration" list don't get angry just get in touch with me at faspich1@gmail.com.

The "In Consideration List" is not compiled just by me. There is a committee so to speak that I chat with. More people will be added to the chats as we move along.
