Poynette's Casey Fountain sizzled through the entire 2019 softball season and helped lead the Pumas to the school's 26th conference championship, its 17th trip to a sectional, its 11th sectional championship and then the school's fifth state title, doing it in back-to-back seasons.

Three other Pumas' players were named to the Division 3-5 All State teams. Junior Lucy Cuff also recorded an amazing season and could have been in the running for state player of the year if not for Fountain's success. She was named to the First Team by the All State Selection committee.
Junior Outfielder/Pitcher Molly Anderson batted .520 with seven doubles, three triples and two home runs and drove in 25 runs. She also recorded a pitching record of 5-0, seeing action in eight games. Her ERA was a miniscule .26.
Senior third sacker Ashley Hellenbrand repeated on the all state lists from a year ago. A first team infielder in 2018 Hellenbrand had another stellar season leading the Pumas to the state title. She batted .426 with 29 rbi, had three doubles, one triple and three home runs. At third base she excelled the past two seasons.
