Westosha Central dropped two games at the Poynette Jamboree.  The Falcons lost the opener to Stevens Point 6-2 and were shut out in the nightcap 5-0 by Escanaba (MI).  In the first game the Falcons jumped to an early 2-0 lead.  Becca Edwards led off with a double and scored on a 2-run home run by Olivia Nahorniak.  The lead lasted only a half an inning.  Two bunt singles and two errors had the Falcons clinging to a 2-1 lead.  Then Jenna Eilers hit an Edwards delivery over the RF fence for a grand slam.  "That was the only hard hit of the inning but we didn't adjust early and it cost us dearly."  (co-head coach Tom Lampe)  The Falcons put pressure on the Panthers several times but just couldn't get the key hit to narrow the score.  In the end Jaden Jones was able to keep the Falcons off balance to earn the complete game win.  Edwards took the loss in a complete game effort.  In game two, the Falcons got behind early and could never get the bats going.  Olivia Kazumura took the loss giving up 5 runs (2 earned) on only three hits, while striking out 14.  The only hits for the Falcons were singles by Edwards and Jill Adams.  "Their pitcher (Nicole Kamm) did a good job of using the zone she was given.  We put the ball in play but not a lot of solid contact.  They were a very good team.  Overall we did a lot of good things.  We just need to keep working through things and we will be alright." (co-head coach Tom Lampe)  With the losses the Falcons record evened to 8-8 for the season.  They return to action on Monday when they travel to Wilmot for an SLC matchup.
