Spartans beat Papermakers 8-0 -- Dischler's first 295 wins were at Park Falls/Chequamegon

Syd Supple fans a dozen, faces one over minimum

First Year Oshkosh North Head Coach Ken Dischler is no stranger to coaching success. Afterall, North is not his first rodeo when it comes to heading up a successful community based fastpitch program.

Prior to landing in Oshkosh, Dischler was the head coach at Park Falls which later became called Chequamegon when the students at Glidden became part of a consolidated school district. When the two districts merged they named the school district Chequamegon, using the national forest in that area of the state as the name. It's an interesting story in itself when one considers the fact that the Glidden students get bussed right past Butternut which held onto it's district.

While at Park Falls/Chequamegon Dischler accumulated 295 varsity wins, led the the Cardinals to the 2008 Division 2 Final Four. Ken's 300th victory took place in the fifth game of the current season when his Spartans beat Fond du Lac on April 2nd. Since that game North has reeled off nine consecutive victories to be 14-0 and ranked #1 in Division 1 by The Fastpitch Chronicle (look for those rankings Sunday night or Monday morning).

Congratulations to Ken Dischler for reaching an elite milepost in his fastpitch softball coaching career.

Oshkosh North 8, Kimberly 0

Sydney Supple fanned 12 and walked one in a no-hitter on Friday, April 19. One Papermaker reached on an error.

Courtney Day doubled home a run and later scored in the second inning and Supple doubled home a run in the fourth. Day's bases-loaded double sparked a four-run sixth inning for the Spartans.

Day, Brooke Ellestad and Brie Gauthier each had two of the Spartans' 11 hits.
