Westosha Central used late inning heroics to pull out a 3-2 victory of Union Grove in Paddock Lake.  Olivia Kazumura earned the win going 7 innings.  She allowed three hits, two runs (none earned) and struck out 12.  "This is the best Olivia has looked all year.  She changed her locations and kept them off balance for most of the night."  (co-head coach Tom Lampe)  The Broncos put the Falcons in a hole in the very first inning.  Olivia Brieske reached base on an error.  She was moved to 2nd on a sacrifice by Megan Baker.  With two outs, Kayli Pfeffer lined a single to center, scoring Brieske.  Anna Dolgaard score one batter later on a passed ball.  Kayli Pfeffer kept the Falcons off balance for the next several innings.  That's how the score remained until the bottom of the 6th inning.  Becca Edwards led off with a single.  A single by Kazumura put Edwards on second.  She scored when Jillian Adams singled to left.  The Falcons' final rally began in the 7th.  Molly Grabarec led off with a single.  Kenna Beth moved her to second and reached herself on a sacrifice bunt that pulled the first baseman off the bag.  After an out, Edwards was intentionally walked to bring up Kazumura.  She hit a 1-2 pitch to left for a sacrifice fly, scoring Beth with the winning run.  "That was a great softball game.  It was a shame that one team had to lose because both teams played very well.  They are a tough team.  We are fortunate to come out of this game with a victory.  But our girls did rise to the occasion when they needed to."  (co-head coach Tom Lampe)  With the win the Falcons improved to 5-2 on the season and 4-2 in the SLC.  They return to action this Saturday at the Western Kenosha County Invite.  They will play Carmel Catholic -Mundelein, IL (10:00), Zion-Benton, IL (11:45) and Kenosha Tremper (1:45).
