Don't count Verona out!
After games where Sun Prairie pitcher Maddie Gardner fanned 19 and 17 the Wildcats would have little of that as they struck out just 5 times while their own pitcher fanned eight Sun Prairie batters.
Anderson of Verona limited Sun Prairie to just five his while she and her teammates got five off Gardner.
Verona took a 1-0 lead in the bottom of the second and got another in the bottom of the fifth. It was a good thing they did as Gardner hit a solo blast in the top of the seventh to breathe a bit of life into her team.
Keyes of Verona homered for the winners.
