Final was 10-5

The Westosha Central offense exploded early and the defense made some key plays late in the game to secure a 10-5 victory over Oak Creek. Olivia Kazumura earned the victory, going 6 1/3rd innings, striking out 8 and allowing 2 earned runs on 4 hits. Becca Edwards came on for a two innings of scoreless relief. The Falcons opened the first frame scoring 2 runs. Abbey Jones (3 hits) led off the game with a double and scored on a Kazumura ground out. Becca Edwards (walk) scored on batter later on a Jill Adams double to center. The Knights came back with a run of their own when Sara Traxel walked and scored on a two base error to Jenna Trewyn. In the second inning the Falcons put the game away, plating 6 runs. Kenna Beth and Olivia Nahorniak both singled. Beth scored when Jones singled to right. A bases loaded walk scored Nahorniak and Jill Adams cleared the bases with a grand slam home run to left. The Falcons would add runs in the 4th and 5th innings. In the 6th the Knights mounted a comeback. Emily Meyer doubled, scoring Hailey Jibben. Meyer then scored on a Maddy Demski single and reached 3B on the throwing error. At that point Edwards came in and ended the threat. She was able to put down the side in the 7th to end the game. Overall the Falcons continued their hot hitting, collecting 15 hits including 5 more extra base hits. “We're swinging the bats very well right now. We are making very good adjustments and keeping things simple at the plate. Hopefully we can keep this up.” (co-head coach Tom Lampe) With the win the Falcons improve to 2-1 overall. They return to action on Monday when they host Burlington in Paddock Lake.
