Final was 11-7

It took a two-out seven-run top of the seventh inning rally for the Oshkosh North Spartans (7-0) to overtake the host West De Pere Phantoms on Friday, April 5.

The Phantoms answered Spartan runs in the first and second innings with three in the first and one in the second and built a 7-2 lead with a three-run third inning.

Oshkosh North trimmed the deficit in the sixth. With one out, Mollie Bittner walked and Mathena Higgins and Brooke Ellestad singled to set up a bases-loaded walk to Sydney Supple and a sacrifice fly by Libby Neveau.

Courtney Day and Emma Leib had one-out singles in the seventh for North. After the second out, Higgins singled to load the bases and Ellestad tied the game with a bases-clearing double. Supple followed with an RBI triple and Neveau singled her home. After Sophie Averkamp drew a walk, Brie Gauthier plated the final two runs with a double.

Supple notched the win, working 4-2/3 innings in relief with eight strikeouts.
