Shoreland Lutheran comes from from behind to beat Racine Lutheran

Shoreland Lutheran fell behind 2-0 in the second inning as Ra Lue scattered 3 hits and a walk to plate the runs. Shoreland scored its first run in the top of the 5th when the lead off batter was hit by pitch and reached 2 on a wild pitch. Emily Jones then delivered a 2 out rbi to center field.

In the top of the 6th Victoria Miller reached on an error and scored on a wild pitch to tie the game at 2. Following a walk, Kaylee Ruiz gave the Pacers their first lead by taking a pitch over the center field fence giving shoreland  a 4 to 2 advantage. Racine Lutheran added a run in the 6th but was sat down in order in the 7th ti preserve the 4 to 3 score.

Emily Jones was 3-3 with an rbi, 3 stolen bases,  Ruiz was 1-2 with a walk, HR , 1 run scored and 2 rbi. Kelsey Hill got the win going 7, 9 hits scattered 3 ER and 7 strikeouts.

Ra Lue got 2 hits and an RBI from Kat Schmier who also took the loss in the circle. She allowed 4 runs on 5 hits, 2 walks, 3 HBP and 14 Ks.

Shoreland is now 3-1, 2-0 in the MCC and Ra Lue dropped to 2-1 in conference.

"The girls really grinded one out tonight," said SL Head Coach Kelly Hill.  "We struggled putting the ball in play early but really adjusted with each at bat. I like the growth the girls are showing. Kaylee really picked us up with that big HR."
