Poynette rolled to a 7-0 lead in the top of the first inning en route to an 11-0 win over Lakeside Lutheran in Lake Mills. The Pumas recorded eight hits in the first inning including a leadoff double by junior Casey Fountain. The inning was aided by a one-out error in rightfield that opened the gates for the Pumas. After the error and a strikeout, which would have normally ended the inning, the Pumas collected seven consecutive hits including a three-run home run by junior Zoe Ramberg.

The Pumas added a single run in the fourth inning on three singles and boosted the lead to 11-0 in the top of the fifth on a double by Ramberg followed by a liner that cleared the fence in right-center off the bat of sophomore Peyton Kingsland. They later added the 11th run in fifth inning.

Fountain was sharp in the circle for Poynette as she scattered four hits, walked none and struck out 10. The loser was Kylee Gnabasik who allowed all just four earned runs on 16 hits walked none and struck out two.

Leading hitters for Poynette were: Casey Fountain (3x3), Brianna Kowald (2x3), Brianna Schulz (3x4), Ashley Hellenbrand (2x4), Zoe Ramberg (2x3) and Peyton Kingsland (2x3). Doubles were recorded for Fountain and Ramberg . The Warriors got hits from Nora Statz, Olivia Krieser and doubles from Ryann Burger and Kendra Blake. They stranded runners on second and third in the bottom of the fourth when Fountain closed the door by striking out Cat Richart and coaxing a foul pop up along-side the first baseline fence.

Poynette moves to 4-0 and 1-0 on the season and will face Lake Mills in Poynette, weather permitting on Thursday. The Warriors are 1-2  and 0-1 in the young season.
