First Year Head Coach David Cherney has assembled a great group of assistant coaches who will be instrumental this season. Cherney says he believes that Freedom will be very strong in the outfield with three returning starters. He added that the top half of the batting order ought to put up some great numbers and score a lot of runs. “We will need to work with our pitchers and infielders to shore up some defensive holes,” he stated. “Our pitching will be handled by a core consisting of a freshman, a sophomore and a junior. Returning to the team is a pair of all-conference picks in Grace Blowerk and Claire Burton. Another player to keep your eye on is Calista Brockman. The North Eastern Conference is loaded with good team so he sees Fox Valley Lutheran, Denmark, Marinette and Luxemburg-Casco as four of the strongest. Add West De Pere and Green Bay Notre Dame to that list of stalwarts and you have a very strong sectional field.
