Conference – North Eastern – Nickname is Spartans

The Spartans have claimed nine conference championships and have a 422-149 record overall. They have won 11 regional titles, three sectionals, been to 3 Final Fours and have won two state titles.
Returning all-conference players in 2019 are Allison Dart (first team pitcher); Ali Routhieaux (first team outfielder); Macki Junio (2nd Team Catcher) and Jenna Jorgenson (2nd team infielder). Three other seniors are vying for starting spots for the Spartans: infielders Selina Conard, Taylor Isenberg and Morgan Koss. Underclassmen looking to make an impact are freshman Lauren Adams, sophomores Briann Gaedtke and McKenzie Hanson and juniors Heather Dar, Alli Jauquet, Kendall Prevost and Sierra Shefchik. Coach Tom Giachino says, “I believe our team strengths will be having an all-conference player in all four general defensive types: pitcher, catcher, infielder and outfielder. We have a number of capable pitchers in addition to our first team pitcher Allison Dart.” The Spartans are perennially tough in all aspects of the game and will take on all comers regardless of their division of play. When they view the conference race the coaches see Denmark, Freedom, Oconto Falls and Marinette as being extremely tough. At the sectional level they add in Seymour, New London, Waupun and Winneconne.

Waupun

Division 2 – Enrollment this school year is 540 – Sectional #2 – Group B – final at Wrightstown
Conference – East Central
Head Coach: Tom Hagstrom (19th year) (349-112)
Assistant Coaches” Josh Navis and Katy Babish

Waupun has won 11 conference titles under Head Coach Tom Hagstrom’s leadership. They have claimed 12 regional titles and one sectional title, been to one Final Four finishing runner-up in 2015.  The Warriors are viewed by most of the teams in their sectional as one of the favorites this year but Hagstrom says that Winneconne, New London and Fox Valley Lutheran will be tough in their half sectional. In the East Central Conference he sees Kewaskum as the favorite while Campbellsport and Kettle Moraine Lutheran will all be stiff competition. Hagstrom welcomed back all-conference players Kylie Hraban a two-time first team catcher, Claire Harder and Katrina Pokorny. He believes his team’strength starts behind the plate and goes right up the middle and says that their experience ought to carry them. “We will have to be working on clutch hitting as there are some pretty darn good pitchers around these parts,” he said.
