WFSCA Hall of Fame coach returns to his fastpitch roots

Jim Haines, the legendary head coach at Pepin High School, winner of more than 300 games at the helm of the Lakes and WFSCA Hall of Fame member has returned to the softball program which is now Pepin/Alma. After relinquishing he reins of the program a number of years back Haines wound up being an assistant coach at Wabasha, Minnesota.

Word got back to Pepin/Alma head coach Matt Bellerive that Jim had not returned to Wabasha. It did not take long for Bellerive to knock on the former coach's door and ask him to come back as assistant coach. The legendary coach who has had the field at Pepin High School named after him in honor of the successes he had there agreed to return. "Our program got better the second Jim said he would return and help us out," said Bellerive.

Pepin/Alma is a member of the Dunn/St. Croix Conference and is a Division 5 WIAA tournament school.
