School: Westosha Central Falcons
Division: 1 Conference: Southern Lakes Conference
Coaches: Konnie and Tom Lampe - Asst: Jessie Fischer
Years: The is the 9th season at WCHS, 9 seasons overall
Record: Career-Overall: 183-40, Last Season: Overall: 20-9/ 10-4 in SLC (3rd Pl)
SLC Championships: 6 Regional Championships: 8 Sectional Championships: 4
State Final Appearances: 3 State Championships: 2 (2013, 2015)
NOTE: Reached sectional final for 7th straight season. Lost to Burlington 5-3.
Team Strengths: We have a good mix of experience and youth on the roster this season. We return 5 seniors and 2 juniors from the sectional runner-up team; including the entire pitching staff. We also have good depth at all positions.
Areas of improvement: We have a lot of new faces this season. How quickly they adjust to varsity softball will be a key. We will need to work on solid defense and we may have to improve upon our “small ball” strategies. Solid baserunning and taking advantage of our opportunities will be key to our success.
Conference Favorites: 1. Wilmot-they have a lot of experienced players and they are deep in the circle.
Elkhorn- has a lot of talent around them and they are very deep at pitcher. 3. Burlington-is the defending conference champ and has some very good young players and if they gel, could be a real handful. NOTE: I feel if things solidify around us, we will be in the hunt as well.
Sectional Favorites: In addition to the conference teams I listed above, I would include the following as teams to watch in the sectional: Janesville Craig and Fort Atkinson. Both are returning a lot of players and both will play a challenging schedule.
Key Players in the SLC: Becca Edwards (Westosha)- first-team all state (2018), she is a very solid glove and a very powerful bat. She will be right in the middle of the Falcon’s line up. Olivia Kazumura (Westosha)-went 15-4 as the primary pitcher. She also hit .324 last season. Carlie Odejewski (Westosha)-a power slapper. Her speed will put pressure on defenses. Gracie Peterson (Burlington)-solid defender, she is one of the top infielders in the SLC. Maddie Berezowitz (Burlington)-a slapper, she will also stress defenses. She is also a very solid outfielder, Bridi Allen (Burlington)-mostly a DP last season because of injury, she adds the power to the Demon offense, Haley Remington (Elkhorn),-another all-state player, she is a solid fielder and hitter. She is the leader of their team. Izzy Regner (Elkhorn)-the primary pitcher for the Elks, this year could be her breakout year; Haley Lamberson (Wilmot)-all conference outfielder. Very fast and solid glove, She will also set the table on offense; Madison Zerr (Wilmot)-she is arguably the best player on Wilmot’s team. An excellent defender, she will also be one of their two pitchers. , Ashley Baker (Waterford)-a solid infielder, she is their best offensive threat; Jemmah Fiehweg (Waterford)-another offensive threat, she (along with Baker) forms a solid defense up the middle; Kayli Pfeffer (Union Grove)-one of the Broncos’ leaders, she will share time in the circle. Seneca Peterson (Badger)-probably their best player, she can play many positions but will probably catch. A very good offensive threat as well.
Returning Letter Winners:

Becca Edwards 12 OF/P L L BA: .494, H: 43, RBI: 40 HR: 6, . All SLC-1st Team, All-District- 1st Team (OF), WFSCA All-State- 1st Team (OF), All-Kenosha County (1st Team), All-Southern Lakes Media-1st Team. (Returning letterwinner. Becca is entering her fourth season with the varsity. She will be a key member of the outfield as well as spot pitch for our team. Becca emerged as one of two best players last season. She really turned into a clutch hitter and a very difficult pitcher to bat against. She may be the best left-handed power hitter in the conference. If she makes the same type of improvements this year that she did last year, she could be in for a real special year.
Olivia Kazumura 12 IF/P R R W/L: 15-4, CG: 13, K: 146, ERA: 1.82. BA: .328, H: 24 All-SLC (2nd Team), All Kenosha County-2nd Team, All Southern Lakes Media. Returning letterwinner. Olivia was our top pitcher last season and posted key wins over some highly-ranked opponents. At the end of the season she was nearly unhittable. She will most likely be our top pitcher this season and also play some on the infield. Olivia has a lively bat and she should be in the middle of our batting order this season.
Molly Grabarec 12 IF/OF R R BA: .286, H: 14,R: 12, SB: 8. Returning letterwinner. Molly was a part-time player last season, mostly in the outfield. This season she will be moving to the infield as well. She is a solid contact hitter with very good speed with great plate discipline. She will be in the middle of the mix as we continue to become a more speed-oriented team.
Dana Herman 12 IF R R BA:.340, R: 8, H: 17. Returning letterwinner.
Dana was a pleasant `surprise last season. She started the season on the bench but continued to produce very
time we put her on the field. Because of her production, we moved Edwards from 1B to the outfield. Dana will continue to play infield and will be key member of our offense.
Abbey Jones 12 IF L R R: 9, SB: 9. Returning letterwinner. Abbey is a solid outfielder and a real threat on the basepaths. She will help to anchor a solid defensive outfield and used as a runner when not in the defensive line up .
Carlie Odejewski 11 OF L L BA:.413, R: 27, H: 33 RBI: 13, SB: 11. All-SLC (2nd Team) All-Kenosha County. Returning letterwinner. Carlie is one of the table-setters at the top of the order. She is a true power-slapper with tremendous speed. She was also the starting CF last season and should anchor a solid outfield again this season.
Ellie Christeson 11 OF/P L R W/L: 5-3, BA:, R: 22, H:8, SB: 8. Returning letterwinner. Ellie was another of the three pitchers we used last season. She was very solid in the circle and faced some very talented opponents, including SPASH. Her experience and another year on varsity should benefit her. In early practices, she has stood out as her talent seems to be coming forward. She could possess a key bat because of her extra-base power and speed.
