Hello Fastpitch Fans,
I was hoping to watch former Portage pitcher Alli Walker pitch down in Tuscaloosa, Alabama today but rain washed that game out. I was wearing my Michigan State Spartan ball cap though. She gifted it to me back in the winter not expecting me to ever don the cap though. However I do wear it several times each week and especially on the weekends when I know she is all dressed up in green and inside that white circle. She pitched at Madison College a year ago.
As long as Madison College is in this bulletin I will report (I had inside information from spectators there) that the Wolfpack picked up a pair of victories on Friday over Joliet Junior College and the Harper College along with a loss to Rock Valley College, They split two games yesterday and rounded out the weekend with a win over South Suburban College. That event was played at The Dome in Rosemont. Former Marshall High School standout Dany Gumz lit up the box score batting over .500. It was also announced that former Poynette standout Maegan Brookins has signed a NLI to attend and play softball at UW-Parkside next fall. UW Green Bay has started out the season at 2-3 with a wins over Purdue-Fort Wayne (3-1) and Western Illinois (4-3 in 9 inning) and losses to DePaul 5-4 in 8 innings, and then 10-1 and 5-4 loss to Evansville. They were weathered out this past weekend They will travel to Carbondale, Illinois next weekend for games against Iowa, Butler, Southern Illinois Miami of Ohio and another tilt with Iowa.
