Cassandra Darrah and Chloe Miller will be the clinicians

Lake Mills High School Softball will be sponsoring a fastpitch skills clinic on Monday evening March 11th. Two nationally recognized fastpitch players will be the clinicians that night.

The clinic will be divided into two segments, one for pitching and one for hitting. The cost of Pitching only is $50 and the same price is for only Hitting. A $15 discount is available for players who choose to do both segments.

The purpose of the clinic, according to Lake Mills head coach Jim Clift is to develop excellent mechanics, maximize potential and install the mindset of a champion from the best training available.

The clinicians are Cass Darrah and Chloe Miller who were both standouts for the University of Wisconsin Madison softball program.

Darrah grew up in Corydon, Iowa and led her high school team to their first-ever state tournament in 2010. She became a four-year pitcher for the Badgers and won the Big Ten Tournament in 2013 where she pitched every inning. The Badgers appeared in back-to-back NCAA tournament regionals. She holds the Badgers record for highest winning percentage, second in career wins and second in season wins. She currently owns “Full Circle Fastpitch” teaching pitching lessons and conducts camps such as this one throughout the Midwest.

Miller, also an Iowa native grew up in Bettendorf. In high school she was a four-tome first team All State player as well as being a first team all state volleyball player and placed third in the discus at the Iowa state track meet. She started all 213 games of her collegiate career for the Badgers, primarily as a catcher, earning several batting titles along the way. She finished her career breaking Badger recrods in single season batting average (.426), multi-RBI games (53), career RBI (181), career home runs (31) and runs scored (145). She was also named an Academic All American and was a Big Ten Distinguished Scholar.

The event stars out at 3:30 where Cass and Chloe will talk about many elements of success and how they attained a level of excellence never before seen in Badger softball history.
