Last night in Montello Oshkosh Lourdes climbed all over the Hilltoppers in a 17-0 victory. A few of note took place during that game.

The fence distance at Montello is not a regulation high school distance for Wisconsin. The fence is 245' everywhere and is 10' tall.

In the top of the first Lourdes' first three batters all hit triples.  That is unofficially a Wisconsin state record for consecutive triples by a team. A fence depth of 245 feet means having to chase a ball another 45 feet and alllows more runners to gain an extra base. But, in the early days of this game in this state there were no outfield fences at all to speak of. Games on city fields or playground fields were wide open and balls could roll and roll if the grass was freshly cut.

In that game yesterday, before it was over, Lourdes had hit six triples by five different players,  Evans (had 2), Schiek, Bartlett, Zemke, Wetterau). This would unofficially be a Wisconsin state record.

Chloe Evans went 4x4 with a single, two  triples and ahome run that cleared that 10' high fence at 245' to the base of it.
