Sheboygan South moves to 4-4 with win over

Sheboygan South - 10, Green Bay Southwest 5

Sheboygan South battled Southwest back and forth through the first 4 innings before pulling away to take the FRCC home win 10-5.

The Trojans scored right away in the first inning and South answered in the bottom to make it a 1-1 tie after 1. Southwest broke through for 3 runs in the top of the 3rd to take a 4-1 lead. South took 1 run back on an RBI by Kourtney Mangan.

The Redwings took a 5-4 lead in the 4th on consecutive RBI doubles by Ashley Weimann and Alyssa Frey.

Southwest scored in the top of the 5th to tie it at 5 apiece.

South re-rook the lead to 8-5 on RBI's by Lena Harvey, Andrea Madson and Samantha Kuehl.

Helen Flynn and Lindsey Anderson each knocked in runs in the bottom of the 6th inning to close out the scoring.

Alyssa Frey pitched the complete game for the win, giving up 2 earned runs on 6 hits, 3 walks and 10 strikeouts.

"This is game where it shows the character of the girls and their constant fight. It was a back-and-forth battle early on, and when we were down 4-1, they never stopped fighting and working hard. That's how you build character!" said Coach Weimann.

South improves to 4-4 Overall (2-3 FRCC)
Southwest falls to 3-3 Overall (0-3 FRCC)
