Poynette downs Wisconsin Dells

Three pitchers combine to throw shutout in 12-0 win

Mattie Bredeson, a junior worked the first three innings for Poynette today in a game against Wisconsin Dells. Sophomore Ashley Hellenbrand worked the fourth inning while freshman Casey Fountain had a 1-2-3 inning with three strikeouts in the fifth for the Pumas.

Bredeson allowed three hits, fanned five and walked one in three innings in getting her 10th win against no defeats this season. She helped herself out with a two run double in the second inning.

Poynette scored one in the first, six in the second and five in the third en route to its 11th win of the season against no defeats.

Senior second team all state second baseman Maegan Brookins went 2x3 while all district shortstop Haley Radewan was 3x3 with a double and triple. Allison Tomlinson also doubled for Poynette.

The Chiefs collected four hits off the three Poynette pitchers with Claire Nate going 2x2. 

Poynette plated 12 runs on 12 hits and had one error on a steal attempt of second base. The Chiefs committed two errors in the game.

"We hit some very hard balls today and found some gaps and seams," said Head Coach Bob Tomlinson. "Our pitching was superb and oru catching has been as well. I've given Mya full control of calling the games now from her spot behind home plate."

Poynette travels to Belleville on Tuesday while Wisconsin Dells travels to Mauston.
