Wrightstown upsets Luxemburg-Casco; Shawano takes two from GB West; Athens beats Chequamegon

At Luxemburg

Wrightstown scored in the first, third, fourth and sixth innings to defeat Luxemburg-Casco 6-1. Paige Cornelissen, Maddi Verbeten, Carlie Servais, and Danielle Nenning collected hits for the Tigers. Verbeten and Nenning contributed doubles. Winning pitcher Makayla Neinas surrendered only three hits, including a double to the Spartans Cassie Dart, and struck out seven. Cassie Schiltz took the loss for LC giving up four hits and four earned runs.
Luxemburg-Casco is 11-2,8-2............Wrightstown is 13-3, 8-2

Shawano beats GB West 11-2 and 16-1
Saige Henning had five hits, including a three-run home run, as Shawano defeated Green Bay West Monday in a Bay Conference doubleheader 11-2 and 16-1.   Hannah Hein and Emilee Bastar combined on a three-hitter in the opener, striking out 11.   Bastar won the second game, allowing one hit and striking out three.  Shawano improves to 5-1 in the Bay and 8-6 overall.

@ Athens 7, Chequamegon 2

The Chequamegon High School softball team managed just three hits in a 7-2 Marawood North Conference loss at Athens on Monday, May 2.

Emily Mader drove in Maggie Miller and Mader scored on an RBI ground out by Tess Richard for Chequamegon's only tallies in the third inning.

Athens had 11 hits and capitalized on five Chequamegon errors.
