Rise ball too much for Blackhawks on this day

La Crosse Logan squared off Saturday with River Valley, a meeting of two teams ranked in the top 10 in Division 2.  Prior to Saturday Logan pitcher Jordyn Kleman had taken a no-hitter into the seventh twice this season (against Antigo and La Crosse Central) only to be ruined by a last inning hit. Saturday put her in the same scenario entering the 7th up 4-0, but this time Kleman was able to shake the monkey off her back by striking out the first two hitters, walking the third on a full count, and then striking out the final batter of the game to clinch the win and the no-hitter finishing with 18 strikeouts.  Leading hitters for the Rangers were sophomore Claire Bekkam 2-2 (rbi), Kylie Dohlby 2-3, and Kleman (3b).

River Valley played without their first-team all state catcher Taylor Briehl who was at state solo-ensemble.
