The Minnesota vs Wisconsin Border Battle twinbill is set for tomorrow, Tuesday, July 7th at the Woodside Sports Complex just north of Wisconsin Dells and about two minutes south of Chula Vista Resort. The first game starts at 11:00 am while game two begins at about 1:00 pm.

The new complex should not be confused with the Woodside Ranch complex east of Mauston off Highway 82. Don’t go there. The new complex is off Hwy. 13 just a mile and half north of Highway 23 that runs through downtown Wisconsin Dells. If traveling from the north be sure to be on Highway 13 and go south. Once at Chula Vista just keep going another mile or so. From the east, get to Highway 13 and head toward Wisconsin Dells.

The rosters for the event are both posted on the Poynette Fastpitch Organization website at www.pfo.clubexpress.com so once there click on Documents and look for the rosters pages posted therein. Just click on each of them and print them out.

The Wisconsin team is chosen by members of the WFSCA Executive Board each year. There is no exact criteria for being selected but rather is based upon the talent the executive board has seen throughout the year. Some factors used to select include: the all star games, the state tournament, and the all state teams.

Fans should be prepared to play a gate fee to watch the games and there will be concessions available on site. No carrying in of food or beverages will be allowed.

The coaches for the Wisconsin team are Jared Faherty and Tom Drohner. Faherty is the Head Coach at Chippewa Falls and Drohner is Head Coach at Stevens Point Area Senior High School (SPASH).

The Minnesota coaches are: Laura Olson of Maple River High School, Dawn Engebritson of Rockford High School and Kim Bowen of Big Lake High School. The Team Director is Shelly Hotzler of Jackson County Central High School.

Over the past five years Minnesota holds a 5-4-1 advantage of Wisconsin. The two teams split the twinbill last year.
