Bloomer's Steinmetz added to 100 Coaching Wins List

Hello Wisconsin High School Fastpitch Softball Leaders and Followers,

It’s day three of the current season. There are hundreds of team previews out there waiting to be posted on The Fastpitch Chronicle website. However, it’s impossible to publish information unless somebody provides it. That burden falls upon the very people that it must.

In this game, if you wait for the media types to come knocking on your door for information you’ll be waiting a long time. It takes an engaged coach to provide publicity for their program in order to gain a bit of notoriety. If you try to hide in the bushes and think that you can surprise everyone, it just does not work that way anymore. It did at one time in this game, back when the general public and media viewed high school girls softball strictly as a recreational activity. That dinosaur became extinct year’s ago with the introduction of summer leagues, summer tournaments every weekend, travel ball programs aimed at high level competition and goals of gaining some collegiate funding for good players.

Every coach in the state has received an email from The Fastpitch Chronicle with an attached pre-season team questionaire that can be filled out in a matter of minutes. All that needs to happen is to return it to my email address and I can type up the preview. If you doubt that then you have your head in the sand and spend no time reading about this game where great information is available (provide by people just like you but who take the time to get it done).

I’ve updated the Coaches Honor Roll again – somebody sent me information about Jason Steinmetz of Bloomer reaching the first milepost on the Coaches career wins list, that of 100 wins. That email somehow or another fell into my SPAM box but before simply cleaning that inbox out by deleting them all at once, I scrolled down through and found the information. So, Jason, somebody up there in Bloomer forwarded the information to me and you have been added to the 100 Win List on The Fastpitch Chronicle dot net website. Congratulations.

I know there are other coaches out there whose name should be on the various lists or updated but seriously folks, it may seem like I live inside this computer and track all the wins and losses, I don’t. I update when somebody sends me the informationt to update and I do it immediately so as no tto forget.

It’s been a beautiful week here in Columbia County. The soil is dry (there is actually a burning ban in this county) and most teams have been outside and many on their diamonds.

On March 28th Poynette will host Stratford, Gilman and Xavier and possibly Menasha. We have a bit or room for another team o two looking to add one or two games to their season allotment of 26 regular season schedule. Just contact me or Brian up in Gilman (brphelps@gilman.k12.wi.us).

We’re working on actual rankings as well so all the FPC rankers ought to be getting those together and sent in to me.

Have a Fastpitch Kind of Day!

Keep it Rising!

Bob
