More Teams to Consider - Team Previews beginning to get posted

All Right Now! Take two and hit to right!

Hello Fastpitch Fans,

We've added more teams to our watch list and one that was on the original but transposing from written form to typed form on the site caused me to miss Shiocton in Division 3. They were a 1-0 loser in the sectional semi-final last year to this year's Pre-Season #1 team - Laconia. They, Shiocton that is, have an early game with Shawano in April so we'll see how that goes.

I've also started to get some team previews in from coaches who are spot on in the "taking care of business department." Tim Whitford of Winneconne was the first coach to get one in. For that he got a compliment and pat on the shoulder at the clinic last weekend and he'll get a free sandwich and beverage on me when he brings the Wolves down to the Poynette Jamboree.

Speaking of the Poynette Jamboree, I'll start to type about that a little more as time goes on but I can tell you this -- we have a lot of teams coming in and a lot of very strong teams.

19 and Counting Down -- I know he is doing that up in Pepin!

Nineteen Days - that's what there is between tonight and the first day of practice. That gives everyone nearly three weeks to prepare those pre-season team previews that I can post on the website for all to read. I highly doubt if anyone can hide from us anymore -- email, facebook, twitter etc. all enable us to keep up with all of you. Of course, we'd like to keep up with you even more by reading game reports that you forward to us here at the Chronicle. You can post your stats on the wissports site and it would be great to hear from somebody from your team after your games as well. Write what you want at any length you want. Perhaps have an assistant coach write up the summary or any other team representative. Send the information to me at faspich1@aol.com or faspich1@gmail.com -- they both work.

Award Certificates

For the veteran coaches and all the new coaches, both varsity and lower levels, you are reminded that the Fastpitch Chronicle offers free award certificates for just about any highlight your players or team have. All you need to do is email or text me the information. Some examples include: No Hitter, Perfect game, first career home run (automatic), multiple home runs in the same game, part of defensive team that records a triple play and any other fantastic things that would warrant a certificate. The certificate will be in pdf form and in your school colors or any colors you would like. All you have to do is provide the paper on your end to put into the printer. We awarded more than 100 pdf certificates last year and were no where close to what I think we should have been sending out. Remember, to get the award certificate in a pdf the coach must email to me - Player name, School, date of game, opponent, all pertinent information such as number of strikeouts in a no-hittter or perfect game, number of hits in a multiple hit game of 4 hits or more etc.

Summer Events

The Poynette Fastpitch Organization's Summer Jamboree is June 19-21. There is still room for a couple of 14 and 16 U teams as well as room for a few more 12-Under teams and lots of room for more 10-U teams. The PFO is also hosting an early season event on May 16-17 for 10-U and 12-U teams. Entry fee is only $125. Entry fees for all Poynette events are very reasonable and among the lowest or the lowest in entry fee amounts. Check them out at one of the two websites -- www.pfo.clubexpress.com or at eteamz.com/poynette and consider those events.

Any other summer events that want some publicity? All you have to do to get some is send the information to me. I will not go seeking the information but I will publish what I get and only ask that you follow up your event with even more publicity by sending me the results of your events.  All too often, as a matter of fact nearly all the time, summer events leaders are so burned out after a hard weekend of work they fail to help themselves out by getting more publicity. Posting the results on only your own club website will get you mostly publicity to or from the teams that took part in your event. If you want people to know about your events - use what is available to you and this website is available and at no charge -- NO CHARGE! Absolutely NO CHARGE!

It's a bit late and an early ice fishing trip in the morning awaits me.

Have a great day and as always --

Keep it Rising!

Bob
