Germantown beat Wisconsin Lutheran 5-0, raising their record to 2-0 (1-0 Greater Metro Conference).
Junior pitcher Kylie Otto was the story in the circle, hurling her first career complete game shutout. In 7 innings she scattered 4 hits while striking out 4 and walking none.
The Warhawks scored their first run in the bottom of the 1st without the benefit of a hit, as junior RF Emmy Coulter (0-3, R) reached on error and came around to score on two passed balls.
Otto worked her way out of the only trouble in the top of the 4th. After giving up a double and a single to lead off the 4th, she got two fly outs to right and a strike out to end the inning.
Germantown added another run in the 5th as sophomore 3B Addy Johnson (1-3, R, SB) came around to score after a bunt hit, stolen base, wild pitch and passed ball.
The Warhawks put the game away in the 6th with a couple of bunt singles by junior SS Kayla Preiss (1-3, R, 2 SB) and sophomore LF Ally Pentek (1-3, R, SB) and a fly ball single to right field by junior 2B Julia Sina (1-3 RBI, R, SB).
Wisconsin Lutheran junior pitcher Sydney Vitangcol was masterful in the circle for the Vikings, pitching a complete game with 16 strikeouts and no walks in 6 innings.
Germantown returns to GMC play at Sussex on Friday, April 12.
